Flying out to the warm climate of South Africa introduced me not only to the African sun but also to a fruit which would change my eating habits for good and also prove to be for me a way to lose weight.

I was already over weight but I needed not worry about this since the Avocado is rich in fiber and healthy fats which acted as a suppressant to my appetite. Hence I rarely felt hungry for the rest of the morning. Avocado also contains oleic acid, which is found in olive oil and beta-sitosterol, both together are reputed cholesterol busters!

Another major plus is the nutritional fact that Avocados increases the bodies ability to absorb nutrients from every morsel of food you happen to be eating. Sometimes black pepper is added to supplements because it too increases the powers of absorption. So taking Avocado with black pepper must be an absorption time bomb!
